CAREER & EXPLORING FIELDS
Exploring provides exciting activities and one-on-one mentorship for youth looking to discover their future. Whether you’re a local organization looking to strengthen the community or a young person wanting to uncover the possibilities of your future, Exploring is a great place to start.
Exploring is a worksite-based program of Learning for Life, a subsidiary of the Boy Scouts of America, for young men and women who are 14 through 20 years old (15 through 21 in some areas). Exploring units, called "posts", usually have a focus on a single career field, such as police, fire/rescue, emergency medical services, healthcare, law, aviation, engineering, or the like, and may be sponsored by a government or business entity. Exploring is open to all students and in 2016/2017 we helped over 1598 students explorer various career paths. Explorer Posts typically meet once or twice a month over an 8 month period focusing around a career.
